Emphasised Nonsense @ India, Uncut

India Uncut, that overly rated blog (but now a very likeable, diverse website - link), has this on its blog:

I can imagine the following scenario:

The bedside clock shows 3 am. Hillary Clinton's phone rings. She picks it up.

Hillary: Hello. Who is this?

Obama's voice: Hillary, hi, this is Barack. I hope I didn't wake you up.

Hillary: No, of course not, Barack. Tell me, what is it?

Obama's voice: Hillary, I have a question to ask you.

Hillary: I know what it is! Yes I will join you on your ticket! Together we will win! All the women will vote for me, I'm a woman! All white people will vote for me, I'm white! All Americans will vote for me, I'm entitled, I'm a Clinton! I even promise to keep Bill out of your wing in the White House, provided I have the budget to hire interns!

Obama's voice: Er, actually, what I was going to ask was…

I'll let you sample the actual punch line from the blog itself. Read the full post here(link)

Weekly Firsts

In the week just past, somethings happened, which I'd say are rather amusing firsts. So I thought I might as well blog about it.

The first thing that happened was meeting someone who said they'd never been to Bangalore before despite having been in the IT industry for nearly a decade or so. First remarks of "This place's much cooler than Hyderabad" brought a smirk to my face, followed by bemusement on learning that the chap hadn't been to Bangalore.

More fun was to follow. Another person who'd been in the US for quite a few years - and a self-confessed veggie - saying a hamburger had ham. Some debate ensued, before it was accepted to be from Hamburg, and that it has beef. It is such an old  myth that you think it'd not be around anymore - especially among people who've been to the USA, but little surprises, little firsts.
